1922-2022/ Με αφορμή την επέτειο των 100 χρόνων

Ξεκινώντας την έρευνά μου από το Μουσείο Μικρασιατικού Ελληνισμού “Φιλιώ Χαϊδεμένου”, στάθηκα στα κλειδιά που είδα σε μια από τις προθήκες του. Οι άνθρωποι που εγκατέλειπαν βίαια τα σπίτια τους έπαιρναν μαζί τους τα κλειδιά του σπιτιού τους και λίγο χώμα από την πατρίδα. Αυτή ήταν η αφετηρία για τη δημιουργία του έργου μου το οποίο είναι δουλεμένο με χώμα, σπόρους και πέταλα τριαντάφυλλων.

 Όπως αναφέρει η επιμελήτρια της έκθεσης Αθηνά Σχινά στον κατάλογο που την συνοδεύει:

“…Tο έργο της περιλαμβάνει δύο μεγιστοποιημένα κλειδιά σπιτιών, σαν και εκείνα που πήραν μαζί τους οι πρόσφυγες φεύγοντας με την κρυφή προσδοκία να ξαναγυρίσουν. Το πλαίσιο ή η μήτρα από όπου προέρχονται κι αποτυπώνονται αυτά τα εικαστικά κλειδιά, αποτελώντας “πύλες” εισόδου και εξόδου στην “εγκατάσταση” αυτής της Ε. Φ. περιλαμβάνουν στο υπόστωμά τους χώμα, λινάρι, σπόρους και αποξηραμένα πέταλα λουλουδιών, που παραπέμπουν αλληγορικά, σε μια ματαιωμένη Άνοιξη κι έναν μετουσιωμένο πόνο, που αχνοφέγγει μέσα από το συλλογικό ασυνείδητο.”

Inspired by the 100 - year anniversary from the catastrophe of Asia minor.

Exhibition curation: Athena Schina.

At the beginning of my research at the Μuseum of Asia Minor Filio Chaidemenou, i found myself standing in front of the keys that I saw in one of its warehouses. The people who, through violence, where forced to abandon their homes would take with them the keys to their house and some dirt from their homeland. That was the starting point for the creation of my art piece. Worked on solely with dirt, seeds, and rose petals.

 As the curator of the exhibition Athena Schina mentions in the catalog:

“…Her work is made out of two maximized house keys, like those which the refugees took along with them when fleeing, with the hope that they will one day return. The frame in which these artistic keys come out of and are imprinted on represent gates that are both entrances and exits. In this installation of E.F.; dirt, lint, wheat, seeds and dried rose petals are included in its undercoat, and they serve as an allegory to a vain spring and a denatured pain that faintly glimmers within the collective subconscious”.
